Situated in the seaside town of Broadstairs, Thanet College offers a fresh and quiet environment in which to study. Accommodation is arranged by our Welfare Officer with selected English host families within 15 minutes walk of the College. While studying English students can take advantage of the many facilities a F E College offers: free Internet access, fully equipped Library and Open Learning Resource Centre; three restaurants, hairdressing and beauty therapy treatments- even a College travel agency.
Many students go onto full time courses at Thanet College. These included a range of Degree Foundation Courses to prepare for UK undergraduate study, A-Levels or Vocational Diplomas in Business, Computing, Hotel Management, Art & Design, Travel and Tourism and Beauty Therapy together with Complementary Therapies.
All International students studying on mainstream courses receive three hours of English for Academic purposes every week to support them with study-skills tuition. College facilities are available to assist students with disabilities and most support can be arranged, although some facilities may attract additional costs. Let us know you requirements and we will do our best to assist you.
A Social programme is offered each week, every two weeks trips are organised to London, Cambridge, Oxford and over holiday periods to France or Belgium. For such excursions a small fee is payable.
As a State College Thanet can enrol students aged 16 or above - but we particularly welcome mature students, so you are never too old to study or to enjoy learning at "the College by the Sea".
